Data Roaming Frequently Asked Questions

1.       What is the rate for the XOX Data Roaming Plan?

The XOX Data Roaming Plan rate is RM38 for 500MB per day (subject to 6% SST charge).

2.       Which are the participating countries and networks in the XOX Data Roaming Plan?
Please refer to the list of roaming countries here.

3.       Who is eligible to subscribe to the XOX Data Roaming Plan?
The XOX Data Roaming Plan is available to the following Subscribers:

a.       Prepaid Subscribers (ONEXOX Prepaid, WAWA Prepaid, TBG Prepaid, MySISWA Prepaid)

b.       BLACK Subscribers (ONEXOX BLACK, MySISWA Plan, FC Plans)

4.       How do I subscribe to the XOX Data Roaming Plan?
For Prepaid Subscribers, please follow the steps below:


STEP 1: Subscribers need to ensure that they have sufficient credit in their Prepaid account.
STEP 2: Go to phone settings, look for Access Point Name (APN), and manually set it to “XOX”.

STEP 3: Switch on Data Roaming in phone settings.

STEP 4: Connect to roaming country network operator.

STEP 5: Subscribe to XOX Data Roaming Plan via USSD Easy Menu or SMS.

 

For BLACK Subscribers, please follow the steps below:
STEP 1: Subscribers need to ensure that they have sufficient balance (credit limit) in their BLACK account. 
STEP 2: Go to phone settings, look for Access Point Name (APN), and manually set it to “XOX”.

STEP 3: Switch on Data Roaming in phone settings.

STEP 4: Connect to roaming country network operator.

5.       How do I know if the XOX Data Roaming Plan is activated?

Don’t worry, you will receive an SMS notification once you arrive at your destination country.

 

Example of Welcome SMS Notification:

RM0.00: Welcome to Albania! Stay connected with XOX MOBILE! Activate your data roaming for RM38/day.

Upon successful subscription to XOX Data Roaming Plan, you will receive a confirmation SMS as stated below.


              Activation SMS:

RM0.00: Your data roaming has been successfully activated. To check data roaming balance or local credit balance, just go to our Easy Menu and dial *150#. T&Cs apply.

 

6.       What is the subscription period of the XOX Data Roaming Plan once activated?

Data activated each day starting from 12.00AM (GMT +8) onwards ends at 11.59PM (GMT +8). Even if you activated it at 1.00PM (GMT +8), the data subscription will still end at 11.59PM (GMT +8). Regardless of the time you activated the XOX Data Roaming Plan, it will still end at 11.59PM (GMT +8) on the day of activation itself.

7.       What happens if I completely utilize 100% of the XOX Data Roaming Quota?
Once you have completely utilized 100% of your XOX Data Roaming Quota, you will not be able to utilize any more data. However, you may subscribe for another 500MB at RM38 (subject to 6% SST charge) on the same day by dialing *150# for our Easy Menu or sending “DATA ROAM” to 22111 or 23388 (Roaming SMS charges sent from overseas apply, subject to 6% SST charge).

8.       What will happen if I don’t finish using up the XOX Data Roaming Quota?
Unfortunately, your unused data will be forfeited. There is no carry forward feature for XOX Data Roaming Quota.

9.       How do I check my credit and Data Roaming balance?
You may check your balance via the following platforms:

a.       USSD Easy Menu: Dial *150#

b.       SMS: Send the Command Codes to 22111 or 23388

10.   Is the XOX Data Roaming Plan on an auto renewal basis?

Yes, the auto renewal function is available for BLACK Subscribers. Your Data Roaming Quota will auto renew each day if you leave your Data Roaming in your phone settings switched on. However, Prepaid Subscribers will have to manually renew their subscription via USSD Easy Menu or SMS.

11.   If I am a BLACK Subscriber, can I stop the auto renewal feature?
To stop the auto renewal feature, you must turn off Data Roaming in your phone settings by 11.59PM (GMT +8) to avoid auto renewal on the next day.

12.   How do I make payment for the XOX Data Roaming Plan?
Prepaid Subscribers
You must ensure that you have enough credit in your Prepaid account before you depart from Malaysia as the bill payment and top-up can only be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR). The charges will be deducted once you have successfully activated the XOX Data Roaming Plan.

However, you may top-up with your Credit Card or Online Banking in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR) if you need additional credit while you are overseas.

BLACK Subscribers
You must ensure that you have additional credit limit in your BLACK account before you depart from Malaysia as the bill payment can only be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR). It will be charged to your bill once you have successfully activated the XOX Data Roaming Plan.

However, you may make payment and clear any outstanding payment with your Credit Card or Online Banking in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR) if you need additional credit limit while you are overseas.

13.   Can I make any top-up or payment with other currencies besides Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR)?
Unfortunately, no. Top-up and payments for your account can only be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR). Hence, please ensure you have enough credit in your account before departing Malaysia. However, you may top-up or make payment with your Credit Card or Online Banking in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR) if you need additional credit while you are overseas.

14.   Are there any charges when I send the command codes to 22111 and 23388 overseas?

Yes, roaming SMS charges sent from overseas apply and is subject to 6% SST charge. Your account will be charged accordingly for every SMS sent.

15.   Are there any charges when I access USSD Easy Menu by dialing *150# overseas?
Don’t worry, there are no charges when you dial *150# on the USSD Easy Menu overseas! It is complimentary to access USSD Easy Menu to subscribe to the XOX Data Roaming Plan or check your balance.

16.   Can I purchase Happy Hour to have additional data overseas?
Unfortunately, no. You cannot utilize data purchased from Happy Hour for Data Roaming overseas. However, you may still purchase Happy Hour while you are overseas and utilize the data purchased from Happy Hour when you are back in Malaysia.

17.   What if I do not connect to the preferred roaming operator in the country that I’m in?
You will still be charged RM38/day (subject to 6% SST charge) for 500MB. However, you will not be able to utilize the Data Roaming Quota. Therefore, do check on the roaming country network operator before going overseas.

18.   Do I need to turn off my Data Roaming when I return to Malaysia?
Yes, you need to turn off Data Roaming in your phone settings when you return to Malaysia to avoid any additional charges being billed to your account.

19.   What happens If I completely utilize my Data Roaming Quota before the subscription period ends?
Don’t worry, you can always resubscribe to the XOX Data Roaming Plan to receive 500MB for RM38 (subject to 6% SST charge) on the same day.

20.   How do I disable auto activation for XOX Data Roaming Plan?
You may disable auto activation for XOX Data Roaming Plan via:

a.       XOX Customer Careline

You need to ensure that you have switched off Data Roaming in your phone setting by 11.59PM (GMT +8) to stop the auto renewal of the XOX Data Roaming Plan for the next day.

21.   Will I be charged if I call XOX Customer Careline or any Malaysian number from overseas?

Yes, you will be charged if you call XOX Customer Care Line or any Malaysian number from overseas, subject to 6% SST charge. Please refer here for the list of Roaming Rates.
